If you've been keeping up to date with the latest Glossier product launches, you know that it recently came out with a refillable, aluminum-free deodorant in multiple scents, including the iconic Glossier You. Along with its deodorant launch, Glossier announced on Instagram that it'd be replacing its Balm Dotcom applicator, an original product launched in 2014. Known for being a universal skin salve and for having a paint tube look, Glossier has decided to replace the Balm Dotcom applicators with finger-free ones specialized for application on the lips. The Balm Dotcoms now sport a chunky cap compared to its old packaging. This has led many of Glossier's following to comment on how the new packaging looks like a knockoff or "dupe" of the original. Personally, I don't mind this switch. I've been primarily using Balm Dotcoms on my lips, so I'm delighted that the new packaging will make the application easier for me. However, Glossier has also decided to reformulate the product. Glossier has removed lanolin, which makes it vegan but will cause it to be less moisturizing. This is a bummer to me since its extra hydrating feel turned me toward Glossier Balm Dotcoms as a staple in my skincare/night routine. What do you think of this new direction Glossier has taken with its Balm Doctors? And how do feel about it getting rid of Cherry and making Wild Fig permanent?
